Mark and Marge Adams purchased their mid-century 2200 sq. ft. home in 2020 after moving to Marblehead.  The house was using an oil burner for heat, and they were advised that it was well beyond its useful life and should be replaced. In looking for a solution that would be efficient, emit minimal greenhouse gases, and also provide cooling in the summer, they selected a Mitsubishi air source heat pump solution that is designed to work in temperatures as low as negative 20F. They have two systems installed, one in the main house and another in the in-law unit. Their air source heat pumps deliver 100% of their heating and cooling needs and they no longer use any carbon burning heating sources.
