About the event
Sustainable Marblehead invites the community to attend a talk about the importance of native plants and pollinators and their connection to biodiversity. Please come to hear from speaker Peggy MacLeod, who will explore community strategies for reversing the critical loss of biodiversity in order to create a more resilient future. Why is biodiversity so important, what threats does it face, and what can we do? In this talk MacLeod describes how adopting a biodiversity mindset can provide four seasons of beauty, sustain a wide range of native wildlife habitats, give you greater hope for the future, and lead to a deeper connection with Nature. Learn about a movement across Massachusetts to build pollinator pathways that expand habitat using important native trees, shrubs, and plants. Watch for the library's newsletter and web site for information on signing up.
After a 30 year career promoting clean energy and green building, MacLeod co-founded Western Mass Pollinator Networks and more recently the Massachusetts Pollinator Network. She is passionate about stimulating community wide collaboration to create nature based solutions such as planting native trees, shrubs, and flowers to form pollinator pathways.
