Marblehead's Carbon-Free Resolution
Our Mission and Vision
Sustainable Marblehead is dedicated to empowering and connecting our town's residents, businesses and leaders to create a healthy, sustainable and resilient community. Our vision is a vibrant and engaged community actively addressing the climate crisis to ensure our town and planet are habitable and safe for us and for future generations.
Who We Are
We are a volunteer community organization that works to educate, engage and support our town and individual residents in their efforts to reduce carbon emissions and waste, save money and energy and increase quality of life. We do this through our five working groups in the areas of conservation, clean energy and public policy, education, transportation and trees. Please join us.
What is Sustainability?
The United Nations defines sustainability as “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” It means conserving our natural resources so future generations can enjoy them as we have and ensuring that human effects on the environment are minimized.
